Conferences

ELTA holds regional and national level conferences to share resources and best practices with English language educators, as well as to launch new projects and partnerships.

Teacher Trainings

As well as hands-on teacher trainings nationally and regionally within Albania, ELTA works with the British Council together on the English for the World of Work (EWOW) Project and Teaching English - Your Global Home.  Select ELTA members are also trained to be part of a British Council supported National Team of Trainers (NTT).

Model United Nations

ELTA has been honored to support and participate in UNDP-Albania's National Model UN Conferences.


ELTA regularly takes initiative to pilot conferences and workshops for English language educators.  The following is a comprehensive list of ELTA involvements since its foundation.

  1. June 2002: Workshop with teachers of Tirana “Group work”

  1. September 2002: An activity with students and English teachers of “Sami Frasheri” high school, “European Day of Languages”
     
  1. November 2002: Workshop with heads of English departments of secondary schools of Tirana

  1. November 2002: Workshop with English teachers of Tirana: Presenting materials from the Macedonian Conference

  1. February 2003: A group of English teachers together with their students were trained on Project Proposal Writing and Design by the British Council
     
  1. March 2003: ELTA members are involved in the Base Line Study of Education sponsored by the British Council
     
  1. April – June 2003: Workshops with English teachers of Tirana, Fier, Gjirokaster, Sarande, Kukes, Shkoder and Korce presenting the materials of the conferences in Croatia and Bulgaria
     
  1. September 2003 & 2005: Activities in schools throughout Albania on the European Day of Languages; “Languages Unite People,” “Language Builds Bridges,” and “Languages Open Doors”
     
  1. October 2003: Activities with students and teachers in the new studios of BBC in Tirana
     
  1. January 2004: Meeting with the ELTA branch leaders, British Council representative, English Fellows Program representative planning the national conference. There had been monthly meetings up to the day of the conference.
     
  1. June 2004: National Conference in Elbasan
     
  1. November 2004: Workshop in with ELTA members of Tirana in the BC library with the topic, “Teaching Literature in Class”

  2. November 2007: ELTA celebrates its fifth anniversary. The Minister of Science and Education takes part
     
  3. March 2008: ELTA creates in NTT (National Team of Trainers) with the support of the British Council
